Teeth Whitening – Bella Vista, AR
Say Goodbye to Stubborn Stains!
Do you suffer from yellow or brown stains on your teeth? If so, you may have tried over-the-counter teeth whitening strips, gels, toothpastes, and mouthwashes. As you may have noticed, though, these store-bought products usually don’t produce the results you want. This is because they don’t contain enough of the potent bleaching ingredients required to successfully remove surface stains from your teeth. Our professional whitening treatment, on the other hand, has helped countless patients brighten their smiles. Keep reading to learn why teeth whitening has quickly become one of our most popular cosmetic dentistry treatments.
How Teeth Become Stained
There are two types of stains that can develop on the surface of your teeth: intrinsic and extrinsic.
Intrinsic stains are the more severe of the two and are often the result of trauma, overuse of certain medications, too much fluoride ingestion as a child, aging, or thinning of the enamel. Although these stains are almost impossible to eliminate with over-the-counter whitening products, our professional system can blast them away.
Extrinsic stains occur on the surface of the enamel. They develop because of general enamel erosion as well as habits like tobacco use or consuming a lot of darkly pigmented foods and beverages. Stains like these can sometimes be removed with regular brushing and using teeth whitening toothpaste, but in some cases, you may need the help of our professional treatment.
How Our Take-Home Whitening Kits Work
After a consultation with Dr. Combs to determine whether you’re a good candidate for teeth whitening, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and use them to create custom trays designed to fit your unique bite. These trays are designed in such a way that the powerful bleaching gel you wear with them shouldn’t damage the soft tissues in your mouth like certain store-bought solutions would.
You’ll be instructed to place our ultra-potent whitening gel inside your trays and wear them for a prescribed amount of time each day, typically around half an hour. Most patients begin to notice a difference after just one use, but you should achieve optimal results after about two weeks of daily application.
